Plunder - Online Pirate Battle
The sea is contested from the first minute.
Plunder drops you onto a top-down ocean map where other players command ships across a shared waterway, and the goal is to accumulate the most loot before somebody sinks you for yours. The maritime setting does real work here — wind, island cover, and the open sight lines of open water all factor into how encounters play out. It feels like a pirate game in tone and in practice, not just in aesthetic.
Broadsides and Evasion
Ship combat in Plunder runs on positioning and timing — cannons fire in arcs that reward players who predict where an opponent is moving rather than where they currently are. Smaller ships trade firepower for maneuverability, while heavier builds hit harder but commit to every engagement they enter. Learning to read an opponent's turn radius before opening fire is the skill that separates consistent survivors from one-and-done pirates.

In-Game Scenes
Plunder is the game that keeps showing up in our Weekly Picks because it keeps earning the slot. It's not nostalgia — the competitive scene around it is genuinely alive.
Plunder has a higher skill ceiling than its cartoon aesthetic implies, and the players at the top of the leaderboard prove it every session.
